中心村位于金淘镇西南部，天竺山脚。村名因地处金淘镇的中心而得。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

元、明、清三代，此地属十四都。民国时分属金淘乡的民安保与山后保，1949年设中心乡。1956年分成民安、五星两个农业社，1958年合并为中心大队，1984年改设中心村委会。[1]

泉州市人民政府曾于1999年至2003年间将本村评为计生合格村。2002年，南安市人民政府与南安市文明办又评定本村为环境合格村。[2]

地理环境[edit]

村域面积约3平方千米，位于天竺山脚下，距南安市区约20公里。[2]

经济[edit]

山地约3000亩，耕地为1696亩。村中种植水稻、小麦与糖蔗，林果有菠萝、龙眼与柑橘，特产草席。村内有砖瓦厂与碾米厂。[2]
