永和村位于永和镇中南部，是镇政府的驻地，东面与福田村相邻，南面与茂亭村接界，西面连着马坪村，北面与玉溪村相接[1]。村名取自1904年侨胞集资兴建的街道「永和街」，寓意永结和好[2]。

地理与人口[edit]

全村由前仓、庄宅、鲍厝三个自然村组成，以前仓自然村为主村，共17个村民小组[1]。

2021年村情汇总表记载，村内有732户，女性1373人，男性1411人，总人口2784人；常住人口同为2784人，60岁及以上498人[1]。外出流动人口858人，约占30%，主要前往广东，从事经商和务工[1]。村中人口较多的姓氏为姚姓和庄姓[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，村子明清时属十三都，民国时属康乐乡。1961年划归永和公社，1984年为永和乡下的村委会，1991年起改由永和镇管辖[2]。

光绪三十年（1904年），海外侨胞集资在此兴建街道，取名永和街，所在的村落便叫作永和村[2]。

荣誉[edit]

2021年6月，永和村被命名为「2020年度晋江市平安村（社区）」，评定为五星级[2]。
