山前村位于永和镇北部，东与坂头村相接，西边是英墩村，北面与新塘街道接壤[1]。村名的由来与村子的位置有关：村子处在白兔山和横山之前[2]。

地理与人口[edit]

2021年村情汇总表记载，村内分为13个村民小组，共有641户。总人口2618人，女性1246人，男性1372人；常住人口数与之相同，其中60岁及以上349人。外出流动人口186人，主要前往广东和北京，多从事经商和务工[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

宋代这里属安仁乡劝善里，明清时属十三都[2]。1944年归康乐乡吴墩保；1956年属栖梧区坂山乡；1961年设为永和公社山前大队；1984年改为永和乡山前村委会[2]。

教育与文化[edit]

1931年建校的城山小学，最早借用村中蔡氏祠堂授课，之后靠海外侨亲与乡贤捐款，陆续盖起新校舍[3]。村中有祖祠公、观音殿、地藏王等庙宇[3]。

荣誉[edit]

山前村在2020年、2021年和2022年三次列入淘宝村名单[2]。2021年6月，该村被命名为「2020年度晋江市平安村（社区）」[2]。
