后山村在内坑镇的镇区中心一带，村委会设在村内。村名取自所辖的后山自然村，因居于山麓而得名，古时此地称桔里。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

相传朱氏先祖自莆田迁来，辗转惠安北石头、泉州城西等地后，择桔里卜居，因居于山麓而命名后山。明清时此地属六都，又称六都桔里西兴。[1]

民国三十三年归熊山保管辖。1959年隶属安海公社内坑大队，1961年起改由内坑公社的后山大队统辖。1984年起由乡统辖，1992年起由镇统辖。以姓氏聚居，此地已逾五百年；解放前，中共泉州中心县委曾在此设立机关，村内为晋江市革命老区基点村之一。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

内坑烈士纪念碑位于村内玉峰公园，1991年建成，为市级文物保护单位。[2]

文化[edit]

后山村于2022年12月获「2022年福建省卫生村」称号，由福建省爱国卫生运动委员会命名；同年11月，本村被确定为「2022年泉州市中级版“绿盈乡村”」。[1]
