井边村位于磁灶镇东北部，沿国道324线两侧分布，距镇区约3公里。村的北面是泉州出口加工厂，南面连着泉州物流区[1][2][3]。

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期，这里属晋江县四十三都钱坡，列入第一都。1944年归梅溪乡前坡保；1949年设苏前乡人民政府，隶属晋江第六区；1956年划入池店区磁灶镇；1961年设磁灶公社井边大队；1984年改为磁灶镇井边村委会[1]。

地理环境[edit]

全村土地面积约2平方千米，其中耕地800亩，山地2000亩[2]。井边村是全村五个自然村的中心，因此村委会以井边为名。这五个自然村是井边、笑口、曾岭、顶大乡和下大乡[2][3]。

人口民族[edit]

村中苏氏约占七成，其余为倪、吴、洪等姓[2]。

名胜古迹[edit]

明万历年间，苏守一与苏宇庶叔侄先后中进士，村里的府第因此称为「进士第」，俗称大衙内，府前的石埕规模宏大[2]。

荣誉[edit]

2007年，井边村被晋江市列为第一批「百村示范村」[2]。
