龙美村位于仙夹镇东部，是仙夹镇人民政府所在的村庄，距永春县城16公里。村内溪流属晋江上游的主要支流之一。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村名来历，据博雅地名网：村中早有一幢名为龙美堂的祖厝，清代初年此地人称「龙美保」，村名由此而来。[1]

明代此地属永春县十二都，民国时期仙夹一带属岵山区；1958年后此地属仙夹人民公社，设龙美大队；1979年改设仙夹镇龙美村委会。[1]

县道347线穿村而过，村内溪流的流域属于晋江上游。[1]

人口民族[edit]

据2021年村情简介，全村辖15个村民小组，居住986户、3618人，另有耕地1354亩与山地2198亩。[2]

文化[edit]

据2021年村情简介，龙美村获评市级宽裕型文明村，并被列为民主法治示范村与交通安全示范村；村集体还获省级「人民调解先进集体」称号，村庄亦为中级版「绿盈乡村」。[2]
