金沙村在桂洋镇西南部，一侧与新岭村接壤，另一侧靠近坑仔口镇，南面与库湖村相连。[1]

村名源于传说，村地下藏有金属铁矿与铁沙，故称金沙。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋至清代属四都。1949年以前，此地是桂洋乡新金保的辖地；新中国成立后改为第二区新金乡。[1]

1958年公社化时，此地划入锦斗公社，称新金大队。1961年7月，新金大队分出三个大队，其中一个归桂洋公社管理。[1]

1984年，改称金沙村民委员会。[1]

文化[edit]

2020年12月，金沙村被认定为泉州市中级版「绿盈乡村」。[1]
