新溪村位于达埔镇，地处安溪、南安、永春三县交界处[1][2]。村名的来历与一场山洪有关：据载，一场大暴雨引发山洪，流经村旁的溪流被冲刷得焕然一新，此地遂另立小乡，因溪流变新而得名[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

新溪村的前身是若干自然角落，1949年前为保一级的建制，1949年后设乡。1952年另立新溪乡，1958年公社化时称新溪大队，1984年改称新溪村委会[2]。

人口民族[edit]

村内有黄、陈、郑、姚、林、兰六个姓氏，各姓多有旅居异乡、远赴海外谋生者[2]。2025年县政府网站所载的少数民族自然角落名录中，新溪村的岱山角落为畲族[3]。

名胜古迹[edit]

村内的新溪革命烈士纪念碑建于1978年，为县级文物保护单位[1]。
