西安社区是五里街镇下辖的社区，位于镇的西部，2005年5月起称五里街镇西安社区。[1]

地名由来[edit]

以“平安”为寓意，地名因位于镇西而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立后归西安乡管辖；至20世纪60年代设西安大队，1983年称西安村，2005年5月才更名为五里街镇西安社区，同时设立居委会。[1]

荣誉与保护[edit]

西安社区2015年10月入选「福建省第一批省级传统村落」，2016年5月被福建省人民政府认定为「第五批福建省历史文化名镇名村」，2019年1月入选「第七批中国历史文化名村」，2019年6月列入「第五批中国传统村落」名录。2022年11月被确定为「2022年泉州市中级版绿盈乡村」。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

翁公祠位于社区内，建于清代同治年间，属县级文物保护单位。祠内设有翁公祠武术馆，教授永春白鹤拳。[2][3]
