华美村位于安溪县长卿镇西南部，地处达摩岩西麓，长坑通往蓝田、祥华的公路在此分叉。村名据传源于宋代此地建有的一座古城，村中原称城门口。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
此地明清时归金田乡还二里管辖。民国三十五年间，村子改属长卿镇的华美保；1952年改归第十一区的一个乡，1958年划入长坑公社成为华美大队，直到1984年才改为长坑乡华美村委会。[1]
地理环境[edit]
境内有狮仔峰、石壁寨等山丘，村委会设在城门口一带。[2]
经济[edit]
华美村是产茶较多的村子，出产的绿茶茶汤色泽青绿。[2]
