东湖村位于惠安县东部的沿海丘陵地带，北面属湄洲湾南岸，现为东桥镇的行政村。村名的来历：古时吴氏从晋江龙湖北迁来，称村为东吴；后张氏一支迁入混居，人丁渐盛，张氏的一位后人在湖广辰州府任职，遂把村名改为东湖，以纪念祖先从湖中迁来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此地明清时属惠安县东门外三十三都梅庄铺，民国时划入辋川区并设东湖保。解放后，村属惠安县十一区辋川东湖乡，1953年改归东岭区。1958年编入东桥管区，成为东湖生产大队。1984年，东岭乡设东湖村委会；1996年，村地划归东桥镇。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

东湖进宗井位于村中祖师公宫大池的北侧，属宋代古建筑。相传北宋时张氏村民迁来此地开凿了这口井，故名“进宗井”。井圈呈圆形，石质为辉绿岩，井身高38厘米，直径48厘米，现仍供居民用水。[2]

「鑑湖张氏家庙」始建于明代，历代均有重修，占地225平方米，正厅三开间，硬山式屋顶，门斗上嵌有同名匾额。[2]
