西湖村是东桥镇下辖的行政村，位于惠安县东部沿海一带。古时此地原为一片海湖，后有张姓村民迁来开发，因居于湖海之西，村名为西湖。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时此地属山前铺，原归三十二都。民国年间是东岭乡的一个保。1949年冬，它归三区东岭地区的西湖乡；1951年改隶净峰的第四区，1956年又划归东岭区。1958年设西湖大队，1985年起改由东岭乡管理，称西湖村委会，此后划归东桥镇。[1]
