石井村在东岭镇西侧，邻接涂寨与东桥两镇，所在区域属惠东工业园区，村中有三个自然村[1][2]。村名来历：明朝时期陈姓村民迁来建居，挖井时遇到岩石，故名石井[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1984年10月，石井设立村委会。此前，1961年10月东岭公社组建，石井另设大队；1958年起隶属飞跃公社东岭管理区的石井生产大队。1953至1958年间，这里分属东岭区的石光乡与石井乡。民国时期归惠安县涂寨区，1952年继续属涂寨区；更早在明代，它隶属泉州府蔡地铺二十九都[1]。

名胜古迹[edit]

石井社公妈宫在石井自然村，清代建造，2001年重修，为二进一开间的硬山式建筑，坐东北向西南[1]。
