中新社区是福建省泉州市惠安县螺城镇下辖的社区，处于县城的中心区，东面以建设路为界，西面到中山北街为止。[1]

社区由1956年合并而成的中新街发展而来，2003年设立螺城中新社区。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年后，县城所在地属第一区。南岺、光华两保并为光华街，青山、云山两保并为云山街；1951年光华街更名中街，云山街更名新街。[1]

到1956年两街合并，称中新街。文革期间改称立新街（1966至1976年），1977年又恢复中新街的名称，这一名称一直沿用到2003年。[1]

2003年3月，地域并合，设立螺城中新社区；博雅地名网另一页称此事在2003年8月办理，同时成立了社区党委。[1][2]
