新生村位于马甲镇驻地西北约3.1公里处，地处仙公山下，三面环山，南接永安村，北邻新民村。[1][2]

1949年后，周边几个村分开建制，此地取名新生，寓意开启新的生活。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放初，此地与周边几个村曾统称“洋西坑”。1958年成立人民公社，下设新生大队；1983年乡村建制时改为新生村，村委会驻下申厝。[1]

据博雅地名网，村落的历史有五百多年，旧属鲤城区。[2]
