后埔社区位于东海街道东南部，在晋江下游北岸，东侧与东梅社区接壤，南邻浔埔社区，距市行政中心约3千米。[1][2]

社区旧称凤埔，后因音讹写为后埔。2025年，社区仍属东海街道，是调整后保留的9个社区之一。[1][3]

地名与沿革[edit]

旧时这一带山势走向形成一个凤穴，明代建村时便以「凤埔」为名，后人读音走样，写成了「后埔」，此名一直沿用至今。[1][2]

清代，此地归晋江县三十六都管辖。民国时一度隶属法石镇，其后又分属晋江县第三区、池店区和长兴乡。[1]

1951年县市分治，此地改属泉州市东海乡。1958年成为东海公社的后埔大队，1984年又变为东海乡后埔村委会。2003年，改组为东海街道后埔社区居委会。[1]

人口与自然村[edit]

2025年，社区常住居民840户、2396人，面积约0.65平方千米。下辖后埔、下堡、林边三个自然村。[1]

交通与配套[edit]

社区位于东滨路与浔埔路的交汇处，水陆交通便捷。周边的教育设施包括中央活力区实验幼儿园，另有市实验小学的东海校区与第五中学的东海校区。[1]
