历史沿革[edit]
始建于宋代。明清时期此地为桃源都。1931年至1934年，这里设桃源乡苏维埃政府。1939年称桃村保，隶属古镛镇。[1]
1950年列为革命老区村，此后改属新乐乡、隶第一区。1955年改称桃村乡，隶城关区；1959年成立桃村大队，隶城关公社；1984年9月称城关乡下的桃村村。1990年改设村民委员会。[1]
近年来，村被认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」（2022年10月），并于2024年7月被命名为「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」。[1]
