历史沿革[edit]
明清时此地隶属尤溪五十都，民国时称池田保。解放前一度叫新桥镇，土改期间仍用此名。集体化后另立大队，1984年起以村为单位管理。[1][2]
民国以来，乡一级的行政机构长期设在这里，如今是全镇的行政与商贸中心。[2]
集市与古桥[edit]
池田坂尾有一座乘驷桥，俗称新桥，建于明代；桥及两端的空地曾设墟场，周边各村群众常来此交易。[2]
人口与姓氏[edit]
村中有魏、张、王、郑等十七个姓氏。全村324户，现有人口1335人（博雅地名网所载，年份不详）。[1][2]
荣誉[edit]
2024年1月，本村被列入2023年福建省卫生村名单；同年7月，又进入2023年度三明市「六无」达标名单。[1]
