方田乡位于福建省三明市宁化县西南部。宁化县政府2023年概况显示，全乡有2804户，人口10922人，面积为108平方千米。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

本乡地域在明清和民国初年归龙上上里管辖。苏区时期（1930年至1934年）此处设有方田区与南城堡区两级苏维埃政府；1934年改归五区（禾口），以方田联保的名义管理；1936年改属二区（曹坊）；1941年设方田乡，1942年改属西南区署并称南田乡，次年复名方田乡。[3]

1949年后，本乡先后划归二区、七区和八区，1956年改属禾口区。1958年初改为县直属，同年秋设立方田公社。1964年撤销工委后，南城与泗溪并入方田公社。1984年改为方田乡。[3]

地理环境[edit]

乡域面积有两说：宁化县政府2023年概况作108平方千米，百度百科作103.35平方千米。本条目取县政府所载。[1][2]

全乡森林覆盖率为76.81%，林地约8000公顷，耕地1091.74公顷，均为2023年县政府所载。[1]

人口民族[edit]

全乡8个建制村中，泗溪和泗坑为畲族村。[1] 百度百科载，2019年末户籍人口为11406人。[2]

经济[edit]

古坑米粉是乡里的重点产业。联村党总支于2021年4月组建，由南城村、大罗村、朱王村、村头村、方田村的党支部组成，统筹土地与资金等要素，确定以米粉为重点产业，并形成党总支、协会、企业和农户联合的组织形式。[4]

文化[edit]

古坑米粉制作技艺于2022年初入选「省级非物质文化遗产代表性项目」。古坑自然村旧时家家户户做米粉，后因成本高、效益低，手工制米粉的人渐少，联村产业又带动这一行业重新发展。[4]

名胜古迹[edit]

乡内两处红色遗址：「沙罗坝红军医院旧址（丁氏宗祠）」在大罗村沙罗坝自然村，「田螺髻战斗遗址（龙华山）」在泗坑畲族村后山，博雅地名网均将两者记为一般不可移动文物。[5][6]
