后山村位于仙游县东部，木兰溪北岸，在虎头山脚下，距盖尾镇政府约5公里，辖17个村民小组。龙纪寺位于村内院里自然村。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村子四面环山，位于盖尾镇驻地北部高山的背后，旧称“后山洋”，后简称后山。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立前此地属香北乡，1958年归盖尾公社，1984年改设后山村民委员会，隶属盖尾乡；1992年属盖尾镇。[4]

名胜古迹[edit]

龙纪寺位于院里自然村，寺院的始建年代，百度百科记为汉末，博雅地名网记为唐代。唐龙纪元年（889年）扩建后得名。现存的六角亭与佛祖殿，是光绪年间瑞义祖师带头重修的成果，年份为1899年。殿外的罗汉龛中供奉清末德化瓷雕五百罗汉。寺中的五百罗汉为省级文物保护单位。寺旁另有一条长约150米的地道。[2][5][1]
