后溪村位于郊尾镇中部，周围与三埔、阮庄、梅塘和郊尾街相接。村子地势东北高，向西南倾斜，海拔33米。[1]

明万历时期，阮氏从阮庄分房繁衍，一部分人迁居阮庄溪东岸，住在后阮庄祖厝的背后，村子便叫后溪。[1]

2021年3月，村子被确定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」；2024年1月，获评「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

这里原属旸谷里，明清时划入香田里。民国32年（1943年）起才设立后溪保，隶属香南乡，并与阮庄合在一处。1952年，后溪与阮庄组成新民乡；此后于1956年归入庆和乡，1958年才重新设为新民大队。[1]

1961年，后溪脱离阮庄，单独设立大队。1984年，此地设后溪村村民委员会，隶属郊尾乡，1985年3月改归郊尾镇。[1]

村下辖竹戈、下所在、后溪等自然村，另有坝洋、长厝尾、磨头；村民由刘、阮、蔡、施、陈、林六姓组成。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

后溪阮文顺旧居在坝洋自然村，属古建筑，为仙游县一般不可移动文物点。[1]

后溪阮勤俭旧居在后溪自然村，同为古建筑、县一般不可移动文物点；后溪阮氏民居在新埔自然村，属古建筑。[1]
