东湖村位于郊尾镇中部，在省道三郊线东侧约2至3公里处。村子东面是后沈村，西面连着梅塘村，南面以三埔村为界，北面接后面村。地势西北高、东南低，海拔42米。[1][2]

明清时此处属香田里，因卢氏世居而叫卢峰、卢厝；民国时改称东湖保。[1]

2021年3月，村子被确定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」；2024年1月，获评「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1956年村子并入埕边乡；1958年设东湖大队，1984年11月改设东湖村委会。[1][2]

村下辖芹山、东湖、顶庐、鸳鸯厝、大克头等十个自然村，共14个村民小组。[1]

经济[edit]

村北部有石英与钾长石矿，矿点面积4500平方米。1964年起开采钾长石，产品运往德化县；1985年起大规模开采石英。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

东湖张元景旧居在顶张自然村，属近现代重要史迹及代表性建筑，为仙游县一般不可移动文物点。[1]

东湖张氏民居在顶炉自然村，东湖张清福民居在鸳鸯厝自然村，两处都是古建筑。[1]
