东红村位于东庄镇东部，地处礼泉半岛。村名取“东红”之义，寄托村民生活红火的期望。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立初期，东红一带归笏石区管辖。此后数十年间，它先后隶属东武乡、忠门公社与石码公社，村名也几经变化，曾称东武大队，后又称东埔大队。1980年，此地改称东红大队。[1]

1984年，大队转为村，归东庄乡的东红村委会管理。之后，此地在1988年并入秀屿镇，2000年改由东庄镇统辖，2002年划归秀屿区。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

庆青宫位于东埔自然村，是清代建筑，创建于清光绪壬午年（1882年），近年曾经修缮。该宫为莆田市第九批市级文物保护单位。[1]
