华东村位于福建省莆田市荔城区黄石镇，地处木兰溪入海口南岸，属莆田南洋平原。俗称“沛尾”。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

因村子位于原华江乡的东部，故取名华东。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立前，此地属三区华东乡。1953年划入黄石区，同年设华东乡；1956年组成黄石区的华东高级社。1957年合作化后改为黄石公社华东大队。[4]

1960年此地归黄石区清江公社管辖，1964年复归黄石公社，称华东大队。1984年10月这里改称黄石镇华东村，2002年起隶属荔城区黄石镇。[4]

名胜古迹[edit]

东镇祠位于华东村，明万历年间（1573年至1620年）由“三一教”门人林真明为纪念抗倭殉难的群众而建。祠内供奉“三一教”创立者林兆恩，陪祀的还有陈胜、五显大帝和田公元帅。清代与近年均有重修，正殿为歇山顶穿斗式木构架，为莆田市市级文物保护单位。[5]
