新前村坐落在油岚山脚下，萩芦溪从旁流过。周边与海星、石东、丰美、丰山、石狮等村为邻，西面连着江口社区。村域面积约三平方公里。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村名由辖内新店、前王两个自然村的首字组合而成。1984年由生产队改为村，初属莆田县江口镇；2002年起归涵江区江口镇的新前村委会管理。[1][2]
2021年3月，村子获评「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」；2021年11月，又获评「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
前王凫山王氏宗祠位于前王自然村，建筑属清代，始建可溯至南宋末年，其后历代修葺。它是莆田市第九批市级文物保护单位。[1]
东来寺在本村，元至正年间（1341—1368年）创建，清乾隆年间重建，近年再修，同样是莆田市第九批市级文物保护单位。[1]
