后山村位于华亭镇境内，东侧与镇政府驻地相邻，西侧与西湖村相接，南面紧挨木兰溪，北面是三紫山，华油路自村中通过。[1]

村内有清代建造的后山法林寺，为莆田市级文物保护单位。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来历：村庄位于厚山，民国时期为书写方便，以近音字「后」代之，遂改名后山。[1]

1956年，仁和乡分开，另立后山高级社，归华亭人民公社后山大队；1980年以后山生产大队的名义属莆田县华亭人民公社。[1]

1984年由队改村，归莆田县华亭乡后山村委会；1986年改隶莆田县华亭镇；2002年起属莆田市城厢区华亭镇后山村委会。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

后山法林寺位于村内桥头自然村，始建于清道光年间，历代屡有修缮，为莆田市第九批市级文物保护单位。[1]

经济[edit]

村内经济以果树种植、芡实加工和外出务工为主。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，村庄获「2023年福建省卫生村」称号；2024年9月，被认定为「2024年莆田市一村一品专业村」，主导产业为鸡头仔（芡实）。[1]
