湖头社区位于凤翔街道西北部，辖湖头、吴厝两个自然村。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村子在一口大水塘的东面，故名湖头。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代隶翔风里洪琳湖保，1943年归仁风乡湖头保，1950年改隶第五区祥湖乡，1955年划入马巷区。1959年设新店公社祥湖大队，1961年从中析出湖头大队，仍归新店公社；1964年改隶东坑公社，1969年重归新店公社。1984年改为湖头村委会，1987年划入新店镇。1997年划入同安区，2003年改隶翔安区，2006年3月改制为社区。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生社区」。[1]
