陈新社区位于凤翔街道西南部，东坑万亩垦堤的北端，由陈头、新宅两个自然村组成。[1]
地名由来[edit]
社区名取自所辖陈头、新宅两个自然村的首字。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代隶翔风里十二都新宅保，1943年归侯牧乡井头、新宅保，1950年改称麟凤乡。1959年设马巷公社仁凤大队，1961年分出陈新大队，划入渔业公社；1964年改隶东坑公社，1969年回归马巷公社。1984年改为陈新村委会，归后滨乡，1987年划入马巷镇。1997年划入同安区，2003年改隶翔安区，2006年2月改制为社区。[1]
自然村[edit]
陈头又名亭头，是陈姓的聚居地；新宅则因新建房屋而得名，多林姓。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2021年11月，福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生社区」。[1]
