西湖社区位于福建省厦门市同安区祥和街道，前身为西湖村委会，2006年改制为社区。[1]

地名来历与村西一口大水塘有关，当地人取其分水灌田、和睦相处之意，将水塘称为睦命塘，俗称西湖塘。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代此地属从顺里的朴塘保，1943年属瑶岗乡的朱湖保，1950年划入第七区洪坂乡。[1]

1959年归策槽公社红星大队，1961年单独设为西湖大队，隶属新民公社；1984年改称西湖村委会，归祥桥乡。[1]

1994年划归大同镇，2000年划归祥平街道，2006年改制为西湖社区，2022年随祥平街道的部分社区划入祥和街道。[1][2]
