后溪村位于后溪镇中部，属主城区。以后溪溪流为界，溪东称后溪村。村东接仑上村，南与溪西村为界，西临后溪。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

清末这里属仁德里十三都的后溪头保，民国时归集美乡后溪保，建国初依旧属集美乡。1955年10月改隶海山乡，1958年10月并入郊区后溪公社，成为溪东大队。1961年10月，溪东大队一分为二，分出上、后溪两个大队。[2]

1984年10月设后溪乡后溪村委会，1991年随乡改镇。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村辖的城内自然村北侧有后溪城内城遗址，旧称下店寨。该城清康熙元年（1662年）修建，1982年列为市级文物保护单位。[4][5]

文化[edit]

2020年11月，后溪村被授予「第六届全国文明村镇」称号。2021年11月，获福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。2022年10月，省农业农村厅将后溪村确定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]
