钟宅畲族社区位于厦门岛东北部，前身是钟宅畲族村。该村2003年10月转为城市社区，是岛内仅有的少数民族居住社区。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

博雅地名网称，该村于1988年恢复了畲族身份，此后在2003年10月撤村设社区，改名钟宅畲族社区。[2][3] 快懂百科则记1986年该村获福建省民委确认为畲族民族村。[4]

地理环境[edit]

社区地处厦门岛东北部的钟宅湾畔，面积约3.6平方千米，设9个居民小组。[1][3]

人口民族[edit]

社区户籍人口6098人，此外另有非户籍人口三万余人，住户约1500户。维基百科与博雅地名网所记户籍人口相同。[1][3]

文化[edit]

钟宅送王船是本地的民俗活动，一般四年举行一次，由掷筊确定农历月份中的某一天。送王船的流程先由澜海宫推举头家，接着选定吉日，八月安放龙骨，然后开造王船、迎接大厅爷、走镜、巡游，最后是送船。[5]
