新港社区位于湖里区最南端，与思明区交界，东面与东渡社区隔一条路相望。社区在东渡港区内新建而成，名称取其美好之意。[1][2]

社区地域面积约20万平方米，辖区内有国际邮轮中心，另有省属单位及企事业单位135家，个体95家。社区居住住宅共55梯1856户，总人口5560人，流动人口有2236人。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

此地原为东渡村双狮山南麓的海滩滩涂。民国初归竹坑保管辖，抗战胜利后改归湖里保。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，社区被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生社区」。[1]
