东埔社区位于东孚街道西南，与漳州市角美台商投资区相邻，2015年6月由东埔村撤村改居。[1]

社区以玛瑙工艺品加工闻名，20世纪90年代，一位台湾商人在此建起第一家玛瑙加工坊，此后逐渐形成「玛瑙一条街」。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

社区辖区面积约166万平方米。东临第一农场，西接漳州角美，北面以厦深铁路编组站为界。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

传说七百年前这里是海湾东边缘，渔民曾在此晒网休息，因此称东埔。后来水位下降，形成了今天的地貌。[1]

早年属积善里中孚保，抗战期间归角尾乡东孚保。1958年10月设东埔大队，1984年改设东埔村委会，2015年6月撤村改居。[1]

社区村民几乎都姓张。据称唐末有一位张姓将领南下定居龙海角美，其后裔在南宋绍兴年间迁居东埔。[1]

经济[edit]

玛瑙加工坊由一家逐步扩大，至今已有上百家加工厂（坊）和超过百家的展销店。当地玛瑙手环、戒指产量居全国前列，同时也是全国重要的玛瑙原料集散地。[1][3]

人口民族[edit]

据博雅地名网，社区常住居民2094多人，另有流动人口逾1300人，分为六个小组，共650多户。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2020年9月，阿里研究院公布东埔社区为「2020年淘宝村」。2021年10月，东埔社区列入「2021年淘宝村」名单。2022年10月，再次入选「2022年淘宝村」名单。2024年1月，被命名为「2023年福建省卫生社区」。[1]
