石井村是玉屏街道下辖的行政村，属城乡结合区，也是街道内唯一的村，2023年的行政区划中称石井村委会。村名出自早先居民掘井时，井水多从石缝间涌出。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

早年村民挖井，井水常从岩石缝隙里冒出，村子便以「石井」为名。南宋时，俞氏一支从永东里里美村迁来，此后陈、王、吴等姓先后迁入，当地也称玉井境。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋元时期此地归太平乡永东里所辖，明朝改属东隅永东里。1910年（清宣统二年）时归永东乡管辖；1943年，部分地段划入融城镇利桥乡。新中国成立后，1950年设第一区石井乡，1956年并入茶亭区玉峰乡，1958年划归玉峰大队。1960年另立石井大队，归音西公社。村委会取代大队出现在1984年，1990年随撤乡置镇而再度调整。2005年12月，改称玉屏街道石井村。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办授予村「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
