村名由来是村子位于后亭溪与官林溪的交汇处，两溪汇合故称双溪。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代此地属和平乡应达里三十六都。[1]

1958年，双溪划归嵩口公社的洑口管理区，设双溪生产大队；1961年改由洑口人民公社领导，队名不变；1984年，洑口乡设双溪村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办命名本村为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]

村民的主要收入来自农业与外出务工，特色产业为李果、青梅和油茶的种植。[1]
