西林村位于梧桐镇东北部，座落在屏峰山下，距镇区约2公里，距县城约35公里。村域辖区面积9平方千米，辖5个自然村、15个村民小组。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名取自古时村中林木繁茂。1958年起归梧桐公社梧桐管理区，1961年改属梧桐人民公社，1984年划入梧桐乡，1989年归梧桐镇。[1]

2021年2月，村里入选「福建省2018—2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单；2024年1月，被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]

文化[edit]

村内九个姓氏共居，同时使用莆仙方言与永泰方言。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内有清代建的西林宫圣母庙，雕刻精巧。屏峰山山势奇峭，植被茂盛，可开发为自然风景区与革命纪念地。解放前，闽中游击队曾在屏峰山一带活动。[2]
