长新村位于福建省福州市闽清县下祝乡西南部山区，距乡政府约12公里，距县城约50公里，123县道穿境而过。[1]

村名由两处居民区合成：此地原为毛姓「长房」与三姓「新厝」两房的居住区，后各取一字，合称「长新」，成立村委会后沿用。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代归奉政乡安仁里，元代是十九都之下的杉村村，明代与二十都等合为一图，清代隶属怀德乡杉村村。[1]

民国时期杉村乡设杉村保。新中国成立后，此地仍是杉村一带的自然村；1977年另立长新大队，归下祝公社。1984年7月乡政府设立后，长新大队转为乡属村委会。[1]
