东平村位于丹阳镇北部，距104国道约2千米，辖5个自然村，宝林禅寺在村内宝林山下。[1][2]

村名取自村子位于丹阳镇政府以东、地势平坦之意。[4]

历史沿革[edit]

清代此地隶属名闻乡中鹄里，1955年归丹阳区；1984年以前为东平大队，此后改设东平村委会。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

宝林禅寺位于宝林山下，据博雅地名网始建于唐文宗大和五年（831年），最初称宝林庵。唐宣宗大中六年（852年）前后，乡宦张莹请朝廷改封，寺名遂定为宝林禅寺。[2]

1699年（康熙三十八年）皇帝御书「敕赐大中宝林禅寺」，碑石至今犹存。[2]

南宋庆元四年（1198年）前后，朱熹曾在寺中隐居讲学，连江县政府网站如此记载；博雅地名网则作淳熙十五年（1188年）。[6][2]

宝林禅寺于1984年列为县级文物保护单位。[2]

寺东侧有宋墓一座，为连江县第六批县级文物保护单位。[5]
