村名的来历：村原属沪屿片，分村时因村落地处庄头山下，故称庄头。[1]

原属沪屿大队的一个联队，1984年设立庄头村村民委员会。[1]

著名人物[edit]

天文学家张钰哲（1902—1986年）是庄头村人，博雅地名网称该村为其故乡。[1][2]

文化[edit]

2024年1月，庄头村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
