梅东社区是福建省福州市长乐区梅花镇的社区，位于镇域东部，面向海峡，东面隔海与马祖列岛相对。[1]

地名由来[edit]

社区位于梅花镇辖区的东部，又因村委会设在这里，故以方位和办公地点得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1961年，此地自金峰公社分出，另设梅花大队，归梅花人民公社管辖。1978年，此地设立党总支，隶属梅花镇第五分支。[1]

1984年镇建制恢复后，原梅花大队撤销，依辖区方位改设梅东村委会。2015年，村委会撤销，改设社区。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

社区濒临闽江口一带，北面与琅岐、壶江两岛相对，西面与金峰镇相连。[1]

经济[edit]

社区以海水养殖、捕捞和水产品加工为主要产业，有大型海水养殖企业与水产加工企业。[2]
