群光村位于廻龙镇内，与万塘村、大塘肚村、骆岐村等相邻。村名的寓意是：过去家里有人参军是件光荣的事，取名「群光」，希望全村以此为荣。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
解放初，群光一地并入幕江村，隶蓝岐乡。1951年改隶万光管理区，1962年划归万光大队。1983年，群光大队自万光分出；1984年又回到万光乡政府之下，正式称作群光村。1987年村委会建立，1999年再设村委会。[1]
经济[edit]
据百度百科，2004年，县际公路完成水泥硬化，改善了村里的交通。[2]
据百度百科，2005年全村经济总收入13.6万元，农业收入中七成多来自种植业。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，群光村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
