这里原先环境和交通都差，发展落后。广东（仲恺）人工智能产业园西部片区建设后，英光村成为园区的主要地块之一，落户的企业近200家。[1]2022年5月31日，村里的工业大道正式通车，沿街开起商铺，「百富兴」驿站美食街带起夜间消费。[1]
