湘田村是广东省肇庆市怀集县梁村镇辖下的行政村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，村民长期以编制竹器和麻绳为生，有「竹乡」之称，附近又有大片水田，村名由此而来。[3]
1950年，湘田与栏马一起并入沙田乡；1956年分出，称湘田，1958年办起高级社，亦称湘田大队。1983年改乡，其后依次为村委会（1987年1月）、管理区（1989年7月），1998年起为村民委员会。[2]
人口与经济[edit]
位于镇域东部，距镇行政中心约2公里，与光明、沙田两村相邻；774户、3964人（村情资料，未标年份）；水田960亩，山地约1万亩，种植沙糖桔3000亩，向有编织竹席的传统，产品销往肇庆各县区；后来引进南海市南庄镇的藤椅制品厂到村里设厂。[1]
荣誉[edit]
- 2021年9月，在广东省农业农村厅公布的第二批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单中，以魔芋入选。[1]
