坡石村是化州市河西街道的行政村，在国道G207线河西段，因驻地坡石得名；1994年化州建市后由东山镇划归河西区管理。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
坡石在民国和建国初期隶属附城镇，1953年改归环城乡，1958年成为环城公社（后来的城郊公社）下的坡石大队。[1]1983年设坡石乡，1987年起设村民委员会，1989年又叫坡石管理区办事处。[1]化州1994年改市后，坡石不再属东山镇，转由河西区管理委员会管辖，1999年恢复村民委员会的称呼并沿用至今。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
全村分8个村民小组，登记在册561户、3350人；总面积5584.9亩，耕地2278.3亩，主要种蔬菜。[1]村里在下山里村建了篮球场和二层村办公楼，楼上设农家书屋；投入10万元修建江口村排洪闸；上山里村在建二层大戏楼。[1]
