概况[edit]
村在沙铲河以东，村民因此以“江东”为村名，村委会以所辖的江东村命名。[1]
江东原属那贺大队，1961年分出另立大队；此后依次改为乡（1983年）、村委会（1989年）、管理区（1990年），2000年定为村委会。[1]
村内现有1020户4612人，其中党员70人；出产外运菜和山地鸡（据博雅地名网村情，年份未注明）。2022年9月被认定为湛江市文明村。[1]
金鸡塘烈士墓在村内金鸡塘村后的山岭上，葬有刘如风、李伍、马进兴三位烈士。[2]
