历史沿革[edit]
村名的来历，是黄姓先祖迁来时新建了小屋居住，以新屋仔为名。[1] 1950年至1957年，新屋仔与黄竹山等村合组一个乡，乡驻地在新屋仔；1958年两村分设机构，新屋仔单独成立大队，之后称乡（1983年）、管理区（1987年），1999年起为村委会。[1]
经济[edit]
据百度百科，村里有620户3800人（年份未注），耕地1800亩、山地2500亩。[2] 村以花卉种植为主，种植面积超过3000亩，品种600多个，包括宫粉紫荆、黄花风铃等，有“粤西花木第一村”之称；至于2024年的花卉销售额，据称达1.2亿元，村里建有花卉交易中心。[2] 2006年起，村里推进新农村建设，修水泥村道8公里，建成运河花卉长廊和文化中心。[2]
文化[edit]
2019年9月，新屋仔村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单，2023年11月入选「广东百千万工程首批典型县镇村」，2024年4月入选「广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村」创建名单，2025年被命名为第七届全国文明村镇。[1] 新屋仔生态文明村也是河唇镇生态文明旅游区的组成部分。[3]
