特呈村（又称特呈岛村）是湛江市霞山区爱国街道辖下的行政村，在湛江湾水道中部的特呈岛上，北邻南三岛，西靠湛江港，距市区2.8海里。全岛3.6平方千米，下分7条自然村，常住居民约4500人。[1][2]

地名与历史[edit]

“特呈”一说出自古越语，博雅地名网释“特”为地方、“呈”为和谐吉祥。[2]据百度百科，岛由火山活动与大陆分离而成，明清时期曾设盐税机构，岛上留有明代解缙的诗作《题特呈山温通阁》。[3]岛上属抗日革命老区，留有抗战时期的革命旧址；里村陈氏宗祠内是「太邱小学——特呈岛革命活动据点遗址」。[1][4]

岛海岸线长约7.44千米，有沙滩、红树林和火山岩地貌；红树林面积，博雅地名网记为500多亩，百度百科的村条目记为636.6亩，岛条目称保护后增至1000余亩。[1][2][3]谋生以出海捕鱼和近海养殖居多；岛上建有四级交通运输码头，车渡和客船往返市区约20分钟。[1][2][3]

岛上的冼太庙有400多年历史，年例时祭祀冼夫人。[1][3]
