历史沿革[edit]
据村名由来的说法，文姓先祖请胡仲轩来村教学而定居，在屋后花园里筑亭，起名「亭园坊」，后简称亭园。[1]民国时期，亭园一带属新会县第三区龙溪乡。1958年并入杜阮镇龙溪管理区的辖区，1961年起为亭园大队。1984年改称亭园乡，1988年再改称亭园管理区，1999年设立亭园村委会，沿用至今。2002年，杜阮镇划归蓬江区管辖。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村域面积5.88平方公里，距镇政府约4.6公里，环镇公路和南北大道经过。有524户，总人口1804人，分7个村民小组。耕地530亩，其中水田420亩、鱼塘70亩、果园40亩，另有山林地3000亩。[1]
经济[edit]
农业以水稻为主，养殖鲩、鲢等四大家鱼，种杜阮凉瓜。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
马直北夫妇合葬墓在村中土名大马洒山，是南宋时二次合葬的砖室墓。1985年修缮；2000年7月，新会市公布其为文物保护单位；2002年，澳门的马万祺等马氏族人出资扩建。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，亭园村列入2018年「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位之列；2026年3月被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]
