竞海村是广东省汕头市潮阳区海门镇下辖的行政村。1960年，广东省委领导陶铸到村前身的农场视察，称赞农场人把海滩荒沙地改造成耕地是同海竞争的精神，农场后改称竞海。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村子创办于1958年，起初是湖边、坑尾、竹围、新地四村部分村民合办的海门外四综合农场。1960年2月陶铸（时任广东省委第一书记）视察后建议改名竞海农场，1967年又叫外四农场。1981年为外四场管理区，1986年定名竞海村，1988年一度称竞海管理区，1999年起为竞海村委会。[1]
人口经济[edit]
据博雅地名网，村在沿海沙滩地带，距海门镇中心城区约7公里，共264户、1358人，土地约2平方公里，耕地617亩；2013年村经济收入543.8万元，农民人均年收入3354元。2019年9月，竞海村名列「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」。[1]
