历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，宋末有闽南一带的移民来此建村。其时浮陇村隶属揭阳县蓬州都，到明嘉靖四十二年（1563年）才划给澄海县；民国10年（1921年）撤都置区，称浮陇乡。1951年11月浮陇乡分为浮陇东乡和浮陇西乡，浮西之名由此开始。[1]1996年成立浮西居民委员会，隶属金园区广厦街道。[2]
地名由来[edit]
地名来由与浮东相同：建村时村址是河口的江心洲，泥沙聚积成陇，旗杆巷一带最高，得名浮陇；在西面的一半称浮陇西乡，后简称浮西。[1]
地理环境[edit]
社区东邻浮东，南到金桐苑，西以龙湖沟与北墩居委会相隔，北抵梅溪。居委会驻地在西隆路中段的浮西市场旁。辖区面积0.9平方千米，分7个居民小组。汕樟路、金新北路、华山北路和梅溪桥路通过这里。[1]
人口民族[edit]
社区有2002户、8880人（博雅地名网所记，未注明年份），现以纪、谢、辛、吕、吴、许等姓为主。[1]

近年来社区的大部分土地转为城市建设用地，社区内有浮西建筑材料有限公司等企业。[1]

村西的三山国王庙建于清乾隆甲午年（1774年）。[1]
